Terms of service

FacilQuest is operated by David Nunes Cuba, trading as FacilForge.

FacilQuest is operated by David Nunes Cuba, trading as FacilForge, a sole trader in the United Kingdom.

In these terms, "we" and "us" mean FacilForge. "You" means the adult who holds the account.

2. Who may use FacilQuest

You must be 18 or over and the parent or legal guardian of every child you add. By adding a child you confirm you have the authority to do so and to agree to these terms on their behalf.

Children do not hold accounts with us. You create a profile for each child inside your own account. They sign in to that profile with a PIN you set, on a device you enrol. There is no email address, no password and no way for a child to create an account, and there is no route by which a child can contact anyone outside your family through this app.

One account is one family. If two adults share responsibility for the same children, they share the account.

3. What FacilQuest does

FacilQuest lets you set missions for your children, and lets them mark those missions done and earn points, XP and — if you switch it on — a record of pocket money you have promised.

4. Money: read this one properly

FacilQuest never holds, moves, stores or pays money. We are not a bank, a payment institution, an e-money issuer or a payment processor, and we do not hold client funds of any kind.

If you switch on the pocket money feature, the app keeps a record of what you have told your child they will earn. That record is a note between you and your child, exactly like writing the amount on a kitchen whiteboard. Paying it is entirely yours to do, in whatever way you already pay your child.

We do not check whether you pay. We cannot transfer anything to your child. A balance shown in the app is not a claim against us and confers no right to receive money from us. If you and your child disagree about what is owed, that is a matter between you.

The one exception is the subscription in section 5, which is money you pay to a store, not to us.

5. Free and paid

FacilQuest is free to use with one child and four active missions. Pocket money and reports are part of the full version.

The full version is a subscription, offered monthly or yearly, with a free trial for new subscribers. The exact price is shown in the app before you subscribe, in your own currency, and that displayed price is the one that applies.

You buy it from Apple or Google, not from us. Your subscription is charged to your App Store or Google Play account, renews automatically until you cancel, and is cancelled the same way — in your App Store or Google Play settings. We cannot cancel it for you and we cannot see your payment details.

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. We have no ability to issue one. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact the store you bought it from. You may also have rights under UK consumer law that neither these terms nor a store policy takes away.

If your subscription ends, nothing you have set up is deleted. Your children, their missions and their balances all remain, and remain visible. What stops is the paid part: you cannot add another child or another active mission beyond the free limits, the reports close, and pocket money stops recording new amounts until you subscribe again — at which point the setting comes back on as you left it.

We may change what the free tier includes, or the price. If we do, we will tell you before it affects you, and a price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

6. Your account, and keeping it safe

Keep your password to yourself. Parent mode is protected by your device's biometrics or by your account password, specifically so that a child holding your phone cannot approve their own missions — which means the protection only works if your child does not know your password.

Choose a PIN for each child that their siblings do not know. We store PINs as a hash and cannot recover one; if a PIN is forgotten you can set a new one from parent mode.

Tell us at contact@facilforge.com if you think someone else has got into your account.

7. What you must not do

Do not use FacilQuest to set a child a task that is unsafe, degrading, or unlawful. Do not use the free-text fields to write anything abusive — a child reads what you type when you send a mission back.

Do not try to break, probe or overload the service, work around the plan limits, or access another family's data. Do not resell or redistribute the app.

We may suspend or close an account that does these things. Where we can, we will tell you why first.

8. Your content

The names, missions, rewards and messages you enter stay yours. You give us permission to store and display them for the purpose of running the service for your family, and for nothing else. We do not use them to train anything, we do not sell them, and we do not share them with advertisers.

9. Ending it

You can stop using FacilQuest whenever you like. More > Delete account and data removes your family's data — the privacy notice explains exactly what that does and why some arithmetic survives with nothing identifying attached to it. Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription: cancel that in your App Store or Google Play settings.

We may end this agreement by closing your account if you break section 7, or on reasonable notice if we stop offering the service. If we stop offering FacilQuest we will give you notice with enough time to get your data out, and we will refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.

10. What we promise, and what we do not

We will provide FacilQuest with reasonable care and skill. If something is faulty, tell us and we will try to put it right.

We do not promise the app will be available without interruption, or free of every bug. It depends on services we do not control — your device, your network, the app stores, and our hosting provider.

FacilQuest is a chore and reward tracker for a family. It is not a supervision tool, a safety device, or a way to monitor where your child is. Do not rely on it for anything where being wrong would matter — it does not know whether a mission was really done, only that somebody tapped a button.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Beyond that, and because FacilQuest is sold to you as a consumer, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for anything arising from you using the app for a business purpose.

11. Your privacy

The privacy notice explains what we hold about you and your children, why, and how to get rid of it. It forms part of this agreement, and where the two say different things about data, the privacy notice is the one that governs.

12. Changes

We may change these terms — because the app changes, or the law does. If a change matters to you we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use FacilQuest after that means you accept the new terms; if you do not, you can stop and delete your account.

13. Complaints, and the law that applies

Write to contact@facilforge.com and we will reply within a reasonable time.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can bring proceedings in your own country's courts instead.

Nothing here takes away the rights you have as a consumer under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
